ABOUT

ITALIAN CENTER

The Italian Center was founded in 1928 with the combining of several Italian American Organizations in the Dutchess County area in New York.  The Italian Center is an independent cultural organization originally established in Poughkeepsie, a city which is located on the eastern bank of the Hudson River midway between Albany and New York City.

The purpose of the Italian Center has always been to promote, preserve and celebrate the Italian Culture, Heritage and Traditions of its members through the association of people of Italian Ancestry.

The Italian Center is an integral part of the community. It hosts many events both public and private. The original home of the Italian Center was a classic turn of the century building that is a well-known landmark throughout the City of Poughkeepsie and surrounding areas.  The Italian Center is now located in Wappingers Falls and continues with the same purpose.

The Italian Center is always welcoming new members, so please visit the Membership section if you are interested in joining the club and celebrating your heritage.
